Do I need to buy the official card?
Yes — most American players use the National Mah Jongg League card, refreshed each year with the official list of winning hands. Buy copies of the card here: https://amzn.to/3TFd1n7
How does this differ from Chinese mahjong?
American Mahjong has two main differences: the use of an annual card the lists the winning hands for that year, and the addition of eight jokers to the tiles.
Is Mahjong expensive?
It doesn't have to be! Consider searching for tiles and mats on sites like Facebook Marketplace or Next Door before investing in more expensive sets.

How much do you charge for a class?
We don't charge a set fee for a class, but we request a minimum $25 donation from each participant at the end of the class. Many decide to donate more once they hear about the cause!
